Through a unique partnership between Oregon Film, the OregonMade Creative Foundation, and in collaboration with Travel Oregon, Oregon Coast Visitors Association, the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce, Willamette Valley Visitors Association, and many other community partners, the official statewide network of trail markers is being placed at iconic filming locations across Oregon. By connecting these locations, communities, and films, we've created a framework - both virtual and physical - where stories can be retold, and Oregon’s contribution to filmmaking since 1904 can be celebrated.
This collection of trail markers aims to strengthen the connection between the film/TV industries, economic development, tourism, and local engagement. Our communities and locations take center stage, while Oregon’s film history is the story behind the story—revealing the deeper legacy that has shaped these iconic places.

The Oregon Film Office developed the initial concept of the Oregon Film Trail (OFT) with the Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Oregon Film Museum, by identifying Astoria movie locations as a test site community for a bigger, state-wide trail. Now there are over 40 signs, as well as a 160 ft. mural and film poster exhibit at Portland International Airport. The Trail is growing with many more stops planned in communities all across Oregon.
